Papier Mache Magazine
The highlight of this weekend was to find in my inbox the new issue of Papier Mache magazine. Is the cutest online children’s magazine that comes out only twice a year and it is full of great ideas, diy projects, trends, great photography, unique articles (I love “how to turn your children’s drawings into work of art) art sections, interviews…etc. See it yourself here, I am sure you will love it!

Craig Frazier
Well, I have been absent from my blog trying to think what the future holds for Azul-Azul. Lots of plans, ideas of what to do better. I am excited about the idea of seriously venturing in creating uniquely designed fabric and opening a shop as an extension of this blog. I want my fabrics to be be simple, with a story to tell and/or to create but the question is how? Craig Frazier's words and work came to mind, he always tells a story in one simple creative illustration! I want to apply his philosophy in my work. I am just in the beginning phase right now.. lots to research lots to learn! Enjoy his work and I will keep you inform of my progress!

My first fabric!
This one of the fabrics I printed in Spoonflower, I was very pleased of how it turned out! I am going to use to make a gift for a dear friend.
My Experimental Book
At work I met a wonderful woman who has been my inspiration. At her studio I created this experimental book where the "assignment" was to find an old photo and create a story based on it. The only information I had about these photos is that the girl's name was Dorothy, then I created a story based on my own daughter and her love for shoes. I used old journal pages and for the front and back of the cover I screenprinted the fabric with a poem and a bird found in the archives. The rest of the spreads were made by cutting, pasting and photocopying magazines into the old journal pages. Every page was sewn together with a yellow thread as a final touch. Enjoy it.
