Identity

I couldn’t resist to post about this installation that is also part of the Instant Hutong art project from the previous post. In its simplicity, in my opinion, is one of the best projects that points out the identity of a territory. Read more here

Urban Carpet

I just love the concept, beautiful execution and its perfect mix of art, technique, social investigation and urban research of this carpet. It is part of the Instant Hutong art project that investigates the borderline case of Hutong districts in old downtown Beijing. Each Urban carpet (8) represents different maps of Hutong districts and are embroidered by hand with the same technique of the propaganda slogans on large fabrics used by the communist party during the seventies.

Eye Candy

Aren't these thrillingly beautiful? The photographer? Mexico-based Fer Juaristi. I love how his keen eye transforms a simple moment into a delightful memory. I also love the way he creates a concept for each couple making it truly unique. Stop by his site or blog and you will understand what I am talking about.
